Were You in Padriciano or Latina Refugee Camp? I’d Love to Hear Your Story

Hello, and welcome to my blog.

If you’ve ever been to the Padriciano or Latina refugee camps in Italy—whether you passed through for a few days or stayed for months—you carry a story the world should not forget.

I was there, too.

I still remember the faces, the crowded rooms, the smell of soup, the long waits, and the uncertainty about what tomorrow might bring. Some people found a new beginning. Others were left with more questions than answers. But all of us were changed.

These places weren’t just camps. They were chapters in real human lives—full of pain, hope, and moments of unexpected kindness.

Today, I’m reaching out to you.

Were you there?

  • Were you a child, a teenager, or a young adult?
  • Do you remember someone named e.g., Mario, Ilona, Zoran Laslo Kati Janos?
  • Did something unforgettable happen to you there good or bad?
  • Did you arrive alone? With family? Were you sent somewhere else after?

Whatever your story is, I invite you to share it. You can comment below or email me privately if you prefer. Even if it’s just a short memory—a face, a sound, a moment—it matters.

This blog is not just about me. It’s about all of us who walked through those gates and made it out the other side, one way or another.

As part of my journey, I’m publishing a book titled:
_“The Diary of PARALLEL SERENDIPITY: A Love Story Beyond Imagination”
It touches on what happened in those years and what came after. If you lived through something similar, maybe you’ll find pieces of your own story in mine.

Let’s make sure these memories are not lost. Let’s write our names into history—not as numbers or statistics, but as human beings.

I’m listening. I hope you’ll write.

With respect,
Alex Család
